Who we are

MOVE, the Malaysian Organization of Vape Entity, is an independent, non-profit consumer advocacy organisation for Malaysian adults who vape. MOVE publishes this website for education, awareness and advocacy on smoke-free products policy in Malaysia.

By using the site, you accept the terms below.

The site is for adults

This site is intended for adults aged 18 and above. The subject is nicotine regulation, and the pages are written for readers who are already of legal age to decide about it for themselves.

Nothing here is advice

What we publish is general information and advocacy. It is not medical, legal or financial advice, and it is not a substitute for advice given to you about your own circumstances.

Nothing on this site tells anyone to start vaping. We lay out the facts so that you can make an informed decision.

If you are making a decision about your own health, speak to a doctor, a pharmacist or another qualified professional.

If you run a shop or other business, get your own legal advice on what Act 852 and its regulations require of you. Our retailer guide explains the law in plain language. It is general information, not legal advice on your business.

We do not sell or promote any product

We do not sell any products. We do not advertise or promote any product, brand or retailer, and nothing on this site is an offer to sell or an invitation to buy. Where a company, a brand or a trade body is named, it is named because it forms part of the record we are describing.

Accuracy, and where the official position sits

We name a source for every factual claim, and we date the law-status boxes because a page about a moving law is only useful with its date. Where we get something wrong, we will correct it on the page rather than quietly.

Malaysian vape law is still moving, and this site says so on every law page. The official position is the authoritative one, and we ask you to check it before relying on anything here.

Quoting us, and the pictures

You may quote from this site with attribution to MOVE and a link to the page you took it from. Journalists and researchers are welcome to do so. We would rather be quoted accurately than not quoted at all.

Press reports, research papers and other cited material on this site belong to their publishers, and their own terms apply to them.

Photographs of MOVE events on this site come from MOVE's own archive and are dated in their captions. The events image is a licensed stock photograph and is not a MOVE event. Some pages carry a generated image rather than a photograph, and none of those images is a photograph of a real object or a record of an event. Two third-party documents are reproduced for the record: a Mingguan Malaysia newspaper page, on the Coverage page, and an archived copy of the petition page, on What we stand for and Our work. Their sources are stated on the Image credits page. The Ministry of Health infographic is reproduced as an official public document, for guidance.

MOVE publishes the content of this site and is responsible for it. Independent service providers designed and built the site for MOVE and host it. They act on MOVE’s instructions, take no part in MOVE’s advocacy, and are not responsible for, and accept no liability for, the content of this site or any claim arising from it.

The site is provided as it is. We do not warrant that it will be available without interruption or free of error, and we may change, move or withdraw any page.

Governing law, and changes to these terms

These terms are governed by the laws of Malaysia.

We may update them. The date at the top of this page tells you when we last did.
